Meet Your Maker
I’m Amanda, the hands behind Tal-Glow. I’m a registered nurse and Indigenous entrepreneur from the Katzie First Nation, creating on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation. I’m grateful to live and work on this land.
Tal-Glow was born from a desire to merge ancestral knowledge with modern skincare with a focus on nourishment, renewal, and prevention.
What started as a personal journey to rebalance my skin turned into a passion for formulating skincare that supports your skin’s natural glow.
I work with nutrient-dense ingredients like grass-fed tallow and botanicals that are intentionally chosen to truly support the skin, not just cover it up.
As someone who’s always loved makeup, I wanted to create products that not only enhance beauty but nourish the skin at the same time. From restorative creams to tallow-based makeup alternatives, Tal-Glow is here to honour your skin and where we come from.
At Tal-Glow, beauty is a return to balance where nature and intention bring out your skin’s true glow. -

Traditional Indigenous Skin Care
Indigenous peoples in Canada have long utilized natural ingredients for skincare, aligning with their holistic approach to honouring the entire animal.
Traditional practices involved using animal fats, such as tallow, to create balms and salves that protected and nourished the skin. Tallow was valued for its ability to moisturize, heal, and protect against harsh environmental conditions, such as cold winters and dry winds. It was often mixed with herbs and plant extracts for added healing and soothing properties, providing relief for dry, cracked skin and other irritations.
This comprehensive use of animal resources reflects a deep respect for nature and a commitment to sustainability. By integrating these time-honoured ingredients and practices, Tal Glow not only offers effective natural solutions but also honours the rich heritage of Indigenous wellness traditions.
